The assertion sí (yes) should be written with acute accent (con tilde), and the conjunction si (if) without it:

– ¿Te gusta la pizza? – Do you like pizza?
– Sí – Yes

Si hace buen tiempo vamos a salir – If the weather is good, we shall go out

Sí que (con tilde) is used to reaffirm the statement, especially when we are asked in negative form:

– ¿Tu madre no viene, no? – Your mother will not come, will she?
– Sí que viene – Of course she will.

Si or Pero si (sin tilde) is used to introduce an important argument when somebody´s decision seems absurd:

– Voy a salir – I´m going to go out
– ¡Pero si está lloviendo! – But dear, it´s raining now!
